Be at Surfers Paradise to welcome the start of the Festival via a colourful and exciting Street Parade.
Expect a lantern parade made possible by community groups, marching bands, school children and acrobats joining in the fun and pageantry.
A fireworks spectacle will help kick-start the four weekends filled with free cultural activities and community events.
The Surfers Paradise Festival Street Parade will start on Alison Street, turn left and then will march along the north part of Surfers Paradise Boulevard. Then, it will turn right to Cavill Avenue, move to Orchid Avenue, turn right at Elkhorn. After which, it will move south down Surfers Paradise Foreshore to the Surfers Paradise sign for the finale.
Feel free to watch the parade from various locations. The best viewing spots include Corner Cavill Ave and Surfers Paradise Boulevard, these are outside Boost Juice and Copenhagen Icecream.
You can also watch the parade from the Corner of Cavill Ave and Orchid Ave just outside Surfers Paradise Beergarden.
Other great viewing spots include The Foreshore, Elkhorn Ave and Orchid Ave just outside Lido Arcade and opposite Central Lounge as well as Costa Do’ro.
The Surfers Paradise Festival Street Parade will take place on April 2, 2014 at the Neal Shannon Park and travel through Surfers Paradise onto the Foreshore.
